Jeff Kopp – Camaro – SCCA American Sedan

I met Jeff at the 2008 Runoffs, when a mutual friend called me and asked me to give Jeff a hand. I found him in the paddock, laying under his car changing the motor. He had only made a few laps of qualifying, the car handled lousy, the engine had blown up, and he wasn’t in the best spirits. He looked at me suspiciously as I asked him to help me write down what his handling issues were, corner by corner. We didn’t have much time, and no chance to try out the changes to the car, but I convinced him he had nothing to lose.

In Jeff’s own words; “I was amazed at the handling improvements from just 30 minutes of conversation and a few adjustments on the car. Dave moved the “wedge” (crossweight), front toe, and camber, and softened the rear sway bar. I now had a drivable car that could get the power down. I moved up from near last to 8th place, and had a much more enjoyable race with Dave’s tweaks.”
